In June 2009, Altarea Cogedim was awarded one of the first HQE® certifications for a shopping centre by Certivea for Okabe in Kremlin-Bicêtre, to the south of Paris. The development has been deemed to meet "NF Bâtiments Tertiaires - Démarche HQE®" environmental standards for commercial buildings since January 2009.
Altarea Cogedim’s commercial property developments on behalf of third parties are committed to obtaining HQE® certification. For example, the Tour First office block - formerly Tour AXA - in Paris La Défense is currently the largest HQE® certified development in France. The multi-energy source building will reduce its overall energy consumption by nearly 75%.
